Valletta

Enjoy the historical beauty of Valletta

Valletta is the capital city of Malta. Even though you might think of an enormous city, or even a metropole, Valletta is not, and does not even come close. Valletta is located on a pensile of 1 kilometre by 600 metres, and only has 7000 inhabitants. But, you should not underestimate the fine beauty of this city: in 2018 Valletta is crowned Cultural Capital City of Europe, and has one of the most concentrated, historic centres of the world! Small, but nonetheless amazing!

Sailing around Valletta?

Besides many tour boats, there are also many boats to rent in and near Valletta. From the harbor Sliema, or one of the bigger harbors of Valletta, many different types of boats can be rented. When succeeded, you’ll sail easily towards one of the many sister-islands, or onto the bigger waters!

What’s there to do?

When set foot on land, and you need some recovery from your sailing-adventure, we recommend you to visit the St. Johns Co-Cathedral. Even though the outside of this cathedral might suggest that this is just a regular cathedral (can cathedrals be ‘regular’?), the inside looks like a true treasury. On Sundays the cathedral is closed, since it is still in use for services. However, a fun thing to do on Sundays is visiting the Sundays market in Valletta!
