Soleado is an American Marine Grand Banks 36 classic.
It is a boat that is in the nautical world as Harley Davidson is in the world of motorcycling. In other respects, the 36 is the Volkswagen "Bulli" van: it has brought, and still brings, generations of Americans on cruise.
The first Grand Banks were launched in the 1960s and Grand Banks are still produced with more or less the same shape as in the original version (only version 43) and have created the myth of the "trawlers".
It is a small dislocating yacht with the aesthetics of an Atlantic fishing boat that Americans handle down from generation to generation. For this reason, new models with this shape are called “Heritage”.
RENT SOLEADO, IN SHORT:
• FROM € 500 PER DAY
• FROM € 2000 PER WEEK
American Marine Grand Banks in the sea: born for the Atlantic.
The American Marine manufacturer had asked its designers to design a small yacht, inspired in its appearance to a working boat, an Atlantic fishing boat.
That's why Grand Banks keep the sea like only a fishing boat and the best sailing boats do.
It is extremely navy, with its deep V displacement hull.
Its two legendary Lehman Ford engines deliver a quiet power and are fueled with little fuel.
Soleado is easy to maneuver, with its two propellers and separate inverter-accelerator controls for each engine.
The Grand Banks 36 is a slow cruiser, its cruising speed is 9 knots, a little more than a sailboat or catamaran: it has the quiet pace of a small ship. Fuel consumption is only 15 liters of diesel per hour. It can board over 700 liters of sanitary water.
If you want your holiday to begin as soon as the boat leaves the harbor, comfortably sitting in the dinette with a cup of coffee in your hand and the sea around you, this is your boat.
Soleado offers two cabins, two bathrooms and a spacious dinette. In all the spaces you can comfortably stand. The dinette is a real living room with large windows overlooking the sea and can be transformed into a third cabin for the night.
The aft cabin has a real Queen Size bed , a single bed, and a dedicated bathroom.
The forecabin is a V bert with a dedicated bathroom.
Above the dinette there is the flybridge: a real terrace on the sea.
Most of the interiors are finished in teak.
Soleado can host up to 8 passengers for day trips and can accomodate 6 for the night.
WARNING: we normally admit a range of 50 nm from the Olbia. Longer ranges must be discussed and expressively agreed.

I am a teacher in one of the local high schools, Liceo Classico Gramsci (a Grammar School). I can speak English and basic German, apart of course Italian. Born in Sardinia of an ancient family of this wonderful island (the Mereus have been here since 600 a.D) I am in love with my Sardinia, its nature, its history, its culture, its music and its food and wine. I am a good chef. I am among those Sardinians who still can speak Sardinian. I am married to a German woman, Birgit, who is a training manager for an important company here in the north of Sardinia. When we aren't sailing our wonderful Soleado, we live in our beautiful country house eight kilometers from Olbia.
